I’ve just got back from a great days fishing! I caught 108lb of carp, mostly on the short pole with luncheon meat. It was enough to win me the match at my local Kiveton Waters Fishery, and was also my first tonne of the year!
It was one of those sessions, when everything I did seemed to work and I couldn’t put a foot wrong. One thing that I found worked particularly well was hair rigging my meat, which is something that I have never really tried before fishing for 3-6lb carp on the pole. I just seemed to hit a lot more bites, and lost fewer fish, and I will certainly be trying it again!
To make a sweet day even sweeter, the angler who came second was my travelling partner, Matt Godfrey, so I had bragging rights all the way home! Why can’t every session be that easy!
