This week I decided to try somewhere new, Lloyds Meadow Fishery in Frodsham, Cheshire. Lloyds Meadow is a venue that I have heard a lot of great things about, but unfortunately have never actually had the opportunity to get round to fishing. From the venues available lakes I opted to a lake called Badger which is on the immediate left as you enter the venue. I have been told the lake has a good mixed stocking so was hopeful of a few bites.
The plan was to fish the pole all day, with the chance of catching a few carp. My plan of attack was to fish the long pole with sweetcorn but with the addition of a little spray of Marukyu's Amino Blue Cheese as well as 4mm Fishery pellets, again flavored with the same additive, fished down the track with a 6mm Jpz on the hook.
I had a lovely days fishing and managed to catch a few of nice carp in the first 30 minutes on the long pole fishing in two feet of water. Then after an hour decided to have a look on the track line at 8 metres, it was solid! It was clear the fish wanted to feed in the deeper water and feeding a small cad pot of pellets after every fish seemed to do the trick. Most of the carp I caught were of quite a small stamp but using light balanced tackle ensured it was great fun and every fish was a fin perfect little mirror carp, great sport for the time of year!
It was an absolutely brilliant day, so a big thank you to Lloyds Meadow Fishery and it was nice getting bite after bite. I am hoping for more of the same in the next few weeks, the fish are definitely starting to wake up!
