£2,500 For Commercial Champs

Garbolino and Lindholme Lakes back new Angling Trust venture.
Lindholme Lakes, and venue-sponsor Garbolino, are backing the Angling Trust Commercial Team Stillwater Championship to the tune of £2,500, which will be paid out to the winners of the competition on the day.

The contest is taking place over three venues – Garbolino Lindholme Lakes, Daiwa Hallcroft Fishery and Hayfield Lakes – on Saturday, August 17th.

The Angling Trust has extended the deadline for entries to Friday, July 19th and places are still available for teams of 10 anglers to take part.

The event is open to any team that is affiliated to the Angling Trust at a cost of £190 per team of 10 anglers, with optional pools available, and each squad individual must be a member of the Angling Trust.

This competition has been created to support the need for teams who wish to fish on commercial venues, and is open to any teams already taking part in the Division 1 and Division 2 senior National Championships, but also to brand-new teams who want to join the Angling Trust and fish more team competitions annually.

Teams will be told which anglers have drawn which fisheries before the event, but the draw for sections and pegs will be on the morning of the match, and the Championship winners will be decided on total team weight.

Sandra Drew, competitions and events manager of the Angling Trust, stated: “This is an exciting new competition to support the needs of anglers who want to put team fishing on commercial venues. As this competition is split over three venues, there will be a range of tactics needed to do well."

"It is good to see some teams taking part who already support and take part in the Division 1 and Division 2 Senior National Championships that are held on natural venues, but also some brand-new teams are joining the Angling Trust especially to fish this competition, which I hope goes from strength to strength for many years to come.”

Entry forms and further details are available on the Angling Trust website at www.anglingtrust.net, or by contacting its competitions department on 0115 9061 301/307.
