Callum Dicks has won a third White Acres Winter Festival following victory in last week’s Garbolino sponsored event.
The Maver-backed angler’s second win in the silverfish competition on the trot saw him fight off some serious competition, beating the likes of Tommy Pickering, Darren Cox and Steve Hemmingray.
Fished over five days at the Cornish complex, Callum’s performance never saw him out of the top six anglers vying for the top spot as he battled in Group A of the 59 competitor field.
Over the competition the Devon-based angler topped his section on three days, coming second on the other two, leaving the 22-year-old to take the £1000 top prize.
“There’s something very special about the Winter festival at Whiteacres as it’s only 60 anglers and they’re some of the very best in the country,” Callum told Pole Fishing. “It’s very special to me too and out of all the events in the year it’s the one I would chose to win over anything else as I love silver fishing and the great atmosphere at the event.
“Because of this I go into it very motivated with my kit and rigs absolutely spot on, and I think that’s why I’m able to do so well. Plus I always seem to get a bit of extra luck when I fish down there too.”
The win in the White Acres Winter Festival is very special for Callum.
