A two-day Christmas silver-fish extravaganza is set to take place at Royal Berkshire Fishery near Windsor. The venue, which is famed for its massive stock of roach and skimmers, is renowned for offering good winter sport.
The event, which is being run by England Youth International and Daiwa Dorking ace Bradley Gibbons, and Pole Fishing’s Tom Scholey and Matt Godfrey, will cost £70 to enter, with the individual winner taking home £400 in cash.
Tom explained: “Matt and I have both shot features at Royal Berkshire in the past, and have always left with a burning desire to fish there, as it is obvious that the place is rammed with silverfish! We have previously run Christmas events in our native Yorkshire, but fancied a change of scenery this year, and when our good friend Bradley suggested running something at Royal Berkshire we jumped at the chance!”
The two-day event will take place on December 27th and 28th, with places strictly limited to guarantee good fishing. Daily prizes will be paid to the top two performers on each lake each day, with the top four overall also being paid out. Due to demand, all three lakes at the fishery have now been made available, meaning that upwards of 30 anglers will be taking part.
