Matty Dawes has won the Perry Delgarno memorial match at Tri-Cast Weston Pools, for the second time in as many years.
The Tri-Cast backed ace bagged 163-4-0 of carp, F1s, and assorted silverfish from the excellent Stretton Pool at the Oswestry complex.
In second place was event organiser, and long time friend of Perry, Drennan Northwest ace Simon Mottram. He banked 159-5-0 from Belvedere Pool. Giles Cochrane finished third, also from Stretton with a 145-2-0 net.
Lake winners included 15 year old Carragon Parry, who managed a 90-12-0 net from the Clay Pit, Darren Aitken, and Pole Fishing regular Jamie Hughes. Jamie banked 140-2-0 from Canal Pool, and generously donated all his winnings to Perry’s family’s chosen charity, the Severn Hospice.
In total over £1,200 was raised for this cause, including donations from Tri-Cast Weston Pools, Earthworkservices and MJP Recylcling.
Perry’s family were in attendance throughout the day, and expressed their thanks and gratitude to all who took part, as well as those who supported the charity.
