Over 18,000 roach introduced to enhance angling at popular fishery.
The stocking of over 18,000 fish into a popular South East fishery is hoped to give a huge boost to winter sport at the venue.
Essex’s Redbridge Lakes saw 9,000 roach introduced into its popular match lakes earlier this week, while a further 9,000 will be stocked in a few weeks time.
The fish, the first batch of which went into the fisheries Daisy Lake with the following batch destined for Cuthbert Lake, is designed to enhance sport for anglers over the colder months, especially for the venue’s popular open matches which run three times per week.
“Sport’s been a bit up and down over the winter so far thanks to the changeable weather, but hopefully the new roach will give anglers’ nets a bit of a boost,” manager of the fisheries shop, Peter Toye told Pole Fishing. “The first stocking was made on Monday, so we might see some of the new fish coming out at the weekend.”
Redbridge runs matches on its lakes every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. For further details of fishing the venue, click here.
